Navigating personal business after the death of a spouse or child can be complicated.  Below we have outlined some important steps for you to complete as well as resources to support you during this difficult time.

BENEFITS CHANGES TO MAKE

Within 30 days* after the passing of a spouse or child:

  • Submit a “Benefit Change” in Workday to remove your spouse or child from your benefits (if applicable).   You will need to attach a copy of the death certificate as part of this process.
  • Review your beneficiaries, tax elections, and emergency contact and make any necessary changes.

*After the 30-day life event window closes, your next opportunity to make changes to your benefits will be the annual Open Enrollment period or a subsequent life event.
