Bass Pro Shops has a longstanding commitment to hiring veterans, and nearly 10 percent of our team members are veterans. We are honored to call every veteran part of our outdoor family and we’re committed to providing them with ongoing support, resources and leadership development.

Every Outfitter who is a veteran is given the opportunity to request a Proud Veteran Outfitter vest. These custom-made vests will feature your name and your branch of service, and can be worn over your existing Bass Pro Shops or Cabela’s shirt or uniform.

vest Wear guidelines

Your Proud Veteran Outfitter vest is meant to recognize and celebrate your service to our country. You may choose when you wear your vest. We encourage our Veteran Outfitters to wear their vests at company events and during the weeks of Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day and Veterans Day.

When wearing your vest the following guidelines should be followed:

1. Should be worn zipped up. For Retail Outfitters, the vest should be worn with the company-provided logo shirt.

2. Must be clean and presentable with name, title and rank visible.

3. No additional adornments or patches may be added.

4. Should not be worn outside of work.

The vests are unisex sizing and are sized to wear over clothes. We recommend you order your normal unisex size. The measurements below are of the actual garment and listed in inches.

VEST FAQs

If you have your Veteran status in Workday, you may click here to request one. Please make sure you log into your Workday profile to place the order.

If your Veteran status is not logged in Workday, please update your status by going to Personal Information > Change/Personal Information > Add Military Service. Once your status has been updated, you will automatically receive an email with instructions on how to order your vest.

Vest orders will be processed at the end of each month and shipped directly to your work location.

The Proud Outfitter Veteran vests are Made in the USA. The embroidery was done by our teams at Base Camp and Prairie Du Chien Specialties Shop.
